From June 26 to 28, 2026, the international conference “New Discoveries, New Perspectives, New Challenges: Historical Research in the Twenty-First Century” was held in Zhengzhou. The conference was jointly organized by Henan University and the Chinese Historians in the United States, and hosted by the School of History and Culture at Henan University, the Institute of Area and Country Studies at Henan University, and the editorial office of Journal of Historical Science.
The conference brought together scholars from universities and research institutions in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and the United States. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the new materials, methods, theories, and questions facing historical research in the twenty-first century. The conference aimed to promote scholarly dialogue between historians in China and abroad, and to explore new directions for historical research.
